Classic Platinum Details

This is a middle of the road credit card. It has a good low rate of 14.9% interest. This is not the lowest rate that exists among credit cards but it is a really good rate, especially if you are currently paying a much higher rate and are carrying a balance that you are getting charged interest on every month.

The interest rate on this card is a variable one. It might be adjusted up or down quarterly if the prime rate changes. Basically, the rate of this card will always be 7.53 above the LIBOR rate.

There are no extras on this card so you won't collect travel miles or cash rebates or any other kind of bonus points. It is just a plain card with a pretty good interest rate on it, which is why it is probably called 'classic'.

The most attractive thing about this card is the interest rate. It would be a good idea for you to apply for this card if you have pretty good credit and if you now have a higher interest rate on the card you do have. Especially if you don't pay your credit card balance off each month, you can benefit from moving your financed balance over to a card that will charge you less interest. Other fees on this card are pretty average as well. There is a charge for cash advances of 3% of the amount advanced (not less than $10). Cash advances are charged 22.9% interest. There are late payment charges of $15 on balances up to $99.99, $29 on balances of up to $249.99 and $39 on balances of over $250. You will also be charged a fee if you charge over your credit card limit. These fees are based on what your limit is and range from $15 to $39 as well.

The minimum line of credit for this card is $300. Capital One will consider balance transfers but you should request them (for up to $3,000) at the time you apply for this card. They are financed at the same rate of 14.9%.

This card is an attractive basic (classic) card with a pretty good interest rate and average charges and fees. This card is good if you currently have a high interest rate card and would like to replace it with a lower rate card with basic fees.
